many years ago iinvested alot of months putting all my medical data in Google Health only for Google to shut it down later! I think they abandon more projects than they follow through!
The question is, how do I mass download al the pictures I have uploaded? too much too do it one at a time.

  1. Downloading your G+ data from Takeout includes all the photos you posted. You can download Google Photos albums more easily - visit each album and use the "download album" option from its menu. That only downloads the files, though - any comments made on individual photos is lost (they are included with Takeout unless i'm very sorely mistaken).

  2. You are exactly right. Google as an entity has ADD...

  3. It's one of the most annoying things about Google. That, and always bringing up new services that do the same as old services only slightly different.

In Google take out .. you pick what Google products you want to "backup" download ..
After picking what you want to download .. Google then tell you to expect an email to let you know the download is ready to download .. you'll need to remember your password .. it'll log you out automatically .. you then log back in and wait .. the download starts up after logging back in .. automatically ..
To access the files you download .. pick .zip format .. then any format of file will be accessible with any unzipping editor ..
A photo will be a photo .. a .pdf .. will be that format ..
If you pick the other choice ...it's a special file format that is only useful when you want to restore G+ .. or what ever products they are for ..
Be warned .. If you pick everything .. the file will be huge .. because you have chosen to backup all Google product files you have generated .. If it's just photos you want to save .. then I'd pick just photos and drive if you uploaded to drive ..
If you uploaded a lot of photos over the years .. it's going to be huge .. I'd do this on a PC to make sure there's enough space for the download ..

  5. It might even be extremely huge. A few months ago, my G+ export was 130-odd gigs(!). Mostly photos.

  6. Alex Pedro rapid discarding is Silicon Valley-wide, not just Google.

A millennial issue, if you ask me, one cured by...age. :)

  7. Stephan Beal yes .. I'm not in need of photo back up ..
But I made the mistake of choosing
    G+ posts
When you've been on here for years .. that's a lot of data.
    I normally pick
    G+ Profile
    G+ circles
    G+ pages ?
It's less than a gig all up ..

  8. Takeout is the way to go in general. If you want to quickly browse through all your photo archives though, there's also the well-hidden https://get.google.com/albumarchive/
