Over-glorified and over-exaggerated. And this "...these were all real people, as opposed to some networks today like Instagram where one can easily buy hundreds of thousands of followers/likes/comments from bots..." -- is not true. Non of my instagram followers are bought nor they are bots. They are painters, photographers and 3d artists whom I reached using proper hashtags; very real people who sharing their passion, supporting and having conversations with others like me.
Kerem Gogus Good for you👍 I deleted my FB and Instagram accounts long a go due to their lack of morals, and now i wouldn't even touch them with a barge pole
Your comment is illogical, Kerem Gogus: Just because your followers on Instagram are all real people doesn't mean that one can't buy fake supporters. That can very well be true regardless of whether any one person does it; nobody claimed that all profiles there are fakes.
John Phillips Yeah good for me... I'm not Trey Ratcliff with cult following so I go where people genuinely interested in my work - in this case its #Instagram.
Christian Conrad With your point of view the article above makes no sense also. Since G+ also filled with bots, spam accounts and shitty porn. Being popular in G+ doesn't mean those celebs listed above didn't bought fake followers. Maybe Google even offered fake followers and +1s to well known people just to raise the popularity of the platform... We never know. What I know is, a corporation doing such canceling on such a social platform can do anything
