MeWe is making me like Facebook and appreciate it. Here is why:

For example, MeWe apparently has it against TOS to post obscene or pornographic content. However, I have had one person try to contact request me twice with a dick pic as his profile. I went to block and report him and now MeWe is so gracious that it will forever show me his profile pic, dick and all, in my contacts menu under blocked.

Facebook only lists the names of who you have blocked. Which is much better because who really wants to see the faces of those people forever? Facebook also doesn't put up with nudity, even women's nipples, forcing people to put pasties or emojis and censor them.

That person's account is also much older than mine, been there all year and still is there proudly displaying peen. So what makes people think MeWe actually cares about their policy and stands behind it? If dicks aren't obscene content maybe they take similar liberties with "privacy" especially once they get big enough.

So, I will still be here until the end. And I really doubt MeWe will ever become a second home. I'm there for now though, but if you really want to follow me, best pluspora and/or Facebook. Because MeWe will eventually get locked down and possibly abandoned because my first week there has given me the creeps.

  1. Thanks for sharing your friend's experience. I'm finding MeWe pretty useless and problematic, too ...still.

  6. I wonder if this issue has been pointed out to MeWe staff and what their response was.

  7. Phillip Landmeier i just posted it to mewe via their feedback feature - that's a pretty facepalmy oversight on their part. i'm willing to bet it will be resolved quickly (assuming they don't have 10k other feedback posts to wade through first).

  8. Stephan Beal Yeah. Dumb mistake but easy to make.

  9. It’s easy to give feedback and the MeWe Team takes it serious. Give them some time. Currently they are working 25h a day to prepare for lots of new members coming from G+.

  10. Dear Christ, you die wearing underwear, in public !
And when you resurected, God knows what you were wearing.
    So stop complaining about exhibitionists.

  11. Olivier Malinur You missed that it wasn't Jesus Christ that was flashed -- it was a woman.

There's also the fact crucifixion wasn't a willing choice of the victim, I'd rate this joke as a double failure.

  12. Olivier Malinur Inappropriate attitude, unless you want to go to jail, at least in the U.S. Exhibitionism is a criminal offense. It's also impolite and disrespectful of others as it is offensive to many.

  14. Sorry, we don't have this taboo in France.
I was mentioning this on Pluspora with French. It went even worse than me....

  15. Olivier Malinur Notice that I didn't refer to the religious reference. :-)

For instance, I've always thought that Monty Python's "Always Look on the Bright Side of Life" sketch was brilliant.
