So here's a deal breaker for ya: I can't get to MeWe from work, because it's blocked as a "personals and dating site" by our ever-watchful content filter.
So much for that one. I may check in there after business hours, but that's very limiting in my day.
Probably a good thing anyway; too distracting.

Well that's interesting and educational.
ReplyDeleteI use a VPN on my phone for nonsense like this. Of course, that assumes your employer allows you to connect personal devices to their network, unless you want to chew through your own data limits.
ReplyDeleteI guess that's a good argument for Mastodon and Diaspora, as they're decentralized.
ReplyDeleteI have to access pretty much anything social from my phone anyway. I guess I never considered doing that stuff through my work system.
ReplyDeleteOuch.
ReplyDeleteI have multiple conundra to deal with here. I can't use my computer to access the site. Regarding my phone, I don't want to chew up my data when I have access to the company WiFi. And I can't use a VPN on my phone because I have company data on it, and therefore a MDM lock.
ReplyDeleteI could ask for an exception - social media sites are not blocked here, only dating sites - and explain that MeWe is the former. Have to decide if I want to do that, however.
Philip Setnik You allowed your company to lock your private phone? No way I would ever do that.
ReplyDeleteMartin Krischik Indeed - I simply refuse to carry a separate phone for work. Too much of a PITA. To each his own.
ReplyDeleteplus.google.com - Perhaps of interest to those evaluating MeWe as a possible new home in a post...
