Some stats from a community I mod.

Some stats from a community I mod. From these alone, you can't gather how long someone STAYS on G+, just how you get posts. Can't find what thread here discussed sharing the insight page, but it's kind of useless for activity time. Anyways, I'll say that I believe the "90%" were possibly bots, depending on when the stat was taken. 5 seconds time of engagement? It just doesn't make sense.

  1. You realize the "5 secs on G+ for 90% of accounts" is an overblown statement that is influnced by all the bot accounts?

  2. Statistical lies. If you have a gazillion accounts, most of those inactive, the active people are of course inactive in comparison to the dead accounts you use to justify that no one is using the platform.

  3. I agree - this stinks like a publicity stunt.
Both using the probably never used data breach and the strange statistics. Especially in this times Google is obviously on a housecleaning journey - see Hangouts and Inbox - now Google+.

  4. Here's mine from...I guess a mid-size community? I don't know where to draw the line. I inherited this community - the original owner fled to FB. I do nothing to encourage posting or interaction. I just manage the spam and HFR queues and delete any garbage that gets through. Pretty sure this isn't a sign of a dead social media platform.

  5. Never trust statistics that you have not faked yourself.
