Switch to MeWe?
As we decide what to do in the wake of G+'s shutdown, many of us are considering or starting to use MeWe. MeWe is Facebook's current top competitor. I'm guessing, based on articles such as this, that no social media site even has a chance at beating Facebook's popularity. I'm not one to care about what is popular/ what most people are doing, however, my fear is that MeWe and probably other social media sites are likely to fail just as G+ has. To me, G+ is WAY better than Facebook in many ways, such as collections and categories within communities. I know most of you would agree with that (right?). BUT... As great as G+ is, it failed and is shutting down. The same thing can and most likely will occur to the "non-Facebook" sites we choose to replace G+. Something to think about... (and I am)

"Today, MeWe announced it has raised a modest $5.2 million in funding from Lynda Weinman — founder of online learning platform Lynda.com, which was acquired by LinkedIn for $1.5 billion" … so funding from Microsoft basically? (MS own LinkedIn).
ReplyDeleteI know some day I will die indeed!😂😂😂
ReplyDeleteThe real Failbook has military ties, and enjoys spying on its members.
ReplyDeleteI am glad to hear that MeWe got a couple mils.
ReplyDeleteAll phenomena are impermanent.
We need to rebuild, and having a large number of G+ refugees move to one sound, generic and sustainable platform is of great importance.
