The fact that I'm blocked from MeWe at work (qv, although it's not very interesting) made me think there needs to be another Social Network - just one more - and I will call it:

FoMo - The Social Network for people who can't miss anything!

There are a few main features to FoMo -
- Live video group chat, with the number of participants limited only to how small their thumbnail can be on your screen. That way everybody can participate, and nobody will miss anything!
- All kinds of notifications! You'll get notified on your desktop browser! You'll get notified via push on your cell phone! You'll get notified by one of minions calling your home phone! You'll get email! SMS! WhatsApp! IRC! We'll call one of your coworkers and tell him to go notify you! That way you'll never miss anything!
- You can post about anything, as long as it doesn't matter if somebody misses something - so nothing too important.
- Everyone can join! Even bots have good things to say, sometimes, and you won't want to miss anything!

So became a part of FoMo today! Every second you wait, you risk missing everything!

  1. My kind of Social Network.

I just don't get what FoMo stands for (it's not just Fo' Mo', is it?)

  3. Gah, have read the term, just didn't connect the acronym.

  4. FoMo, the song youtube.com - Fettes Brot - Jein (Official)

The title is a very German "word", it's Ja and Nein (yes and no) in word. Perfect for these moments of indecision (which is the theme of the song).

But here apropos is the last verse, where he explains that after singing his verse he will go home to his girlfriend, have a nice cozy evening with her. But he then learn that he's invited to this kick-ass party, this "party of the century". And he can't decide… either way he'll miss something incredible :D

  6. This is my current fire-hose model of social media. I need a way to keep track of many conversations but filter through multiple posts of the same article or edit out whole topics.
