Linda Tewes when i reply to a post I always look to see if it has been anwered before repeating info. It is rather rude. These replies came along after mine.
Pat Kight the question has already been answered three times, now four times, sheez, doesn't anyone read previous answers on a thread before post their own?
Martha Magenta G+ is back in the habit of not showing previous comments on posts. I've come across it a lot lately where I'll comment and only then, or even the next time I see the post in notifications, will I see all the comments before mine. It's not people being rude, it's Google.
Martha Magenta G+ doesn't show previous comments. But, even so, why criticize those trying to be helpful just because you said it first, but they (and I) didn't see your post? Just a question, not a challenge.
Martha Magenta No, actually, I don't. But, then, what bothers me doesn't bother others and vice versa. I understand frustration, though, and can commiserate.
Linda Tewes I must have misunderstood context. I thought you were speaking from the opposite direction--that adsense and SEO make money for those who employ them as strategies. Sorry for my confusion.
If Google had been smart, they could have simply left Google Classic alone, asked us to pay them a monthly stipend, and all would have been well. Instead, in Jan 2017, then killed Google Classic and G+ became the ugly spam-infested POS it is today. But this POS is still better than FB ...except for the drive-bys, of course.
DL Keur Google collects information and posts and uses it for advertising or training AI. Look into what they did with Candid and what they and facebook and twitter are doing.

If such a thing existed (and was well staffed), you wouldn't be here.
ReplyDeleteYou aren't missing anything.
There used to be. The only thing now available are things loaded with pictures and spam.
ReplyDeleteYes and no.
ReplyDeleteThere is a Google+ Help community.
It’s run by volunteers. Some are Top Contributors, officially recognized by Google but still just very experienced users.
Yes this one is official I think (owned by google):
ReplyDeleteGoogle+ Help
and there is this one too (I find more active and helpful):
https://plus.google.com/u/0/communities/105619967999215909743
It's still there https://plus.google.com/communities/115758385206378551362

ReplyDeleteI'm sorry for causing trouble.
ReplyDeleteJayfax Not you, read my comment answering your question above then those following straight after, then you will understand
ReplyDeleteMartha Magenta You're very generous-hearted and kind.
ReplyDeleteMartha Magenta Oh... My mistake.
ReplyDeleteMartha Magenta There’s a possibility that the folks who posted the information again, didn’t see your comment before they submitted theirs.

ReplyDeleteDL Keur not today, not when people are rude
ReplyDeleteNot run by the staff, no - the Help community (which still exists) has always been run by knowledgeable volunteers. It's here: Google+ Help

ReplyDeleteMartha Magenta Assume positive activity.
ReplyDeleteGoogle being rude - that figures lol

ReplyDeleteDL Keur Don't you find it annoying to see the same answer over and over? If you've nothing to add, best to leave it.
ReplyDeleteMartha Magenta No, actually, I don't. But, then, what bothers me doesn't bother others and vice versa. I understand frustration, though, and can commiserate.
ReplyDeleteMartha Magenta Give them a break. Assume positive intent.
ReplyDeleteGoogle, a corporation based on communications and search optimization, has no such incentive to provide customer support.
ReplyDeletegiving a break . . .
ReplyDeleteMartha Magenta Everyone's stressed, and typed words often don't convey emotion. Don't let it get to you.
ReplyDeleteWilliam Johnston got a pain in the neck today
ReplyDeleteWilliam Johnston Search optimization and Adsense are the money makers.
ReplyDeleteLinda Tewes Umm...last century, yes. Not today. (Just my opinion and experience, mind you.)
ReplyDeleteDL Keur Was G+ making money? If so, how?
ReplyDeleteLinda Tewes I must have misunderstood context. I thought you were speaking from the opposite direction--that adsense and SEO make money for those who employ them as strategies. Sorry for my confusion.

DL Keur They make money for Google.

ReplyDeleteLinda Tewes I know. And fleece anybody dumb enough to use their 'services'.
ReplyDeleteWilliam Johnston Yep. They still ain't got me figured out, poor saps. Neither has Amazon. [[evil lafter]]
ReplyDeleteThere was but the staff were some pretty dim bulbs
