Y'all should join MeWe. From what I've seen it has the same feel as Google+. That being communities(tho called groups), it has customizable profiles, subsections to comments and group chats. Nice alternative. It also has a community profile, adding a layer of organization.
However the problem here is the lack of public posts, features like Bold are gone(when I use the ** feature I get it in italics), no sections to communities so it's kinda everywhere when you post, and no collections.
Good alterative, but lacking se core features from google+. Once it gains these, it will be the way to go after G+ dies.

Does it also have the ability to post posts under categories?
ReplyDeleteRiley Chance No.
ReplyDeleteNot yet, anyway. Apparently there's already noise about fitting G+ features like categories/collections into Pluspora/Dispora.
For the time being, you'll have to use the hashtags in Pluspora and pick a unique one, I am afraid.
Sevoris Doe well until then let me know when either one is set up.
ReplyDeleteI thought it has more a Facebook look and feel.
ReplyDeleteBTW: they might have gone for markdown where one * is italic and two * are bold.

ReplyDeleteYes, MeWe uses markdown. One * is italic and two * are bold.

Pluspora seems promising. I've joined to keep up on it.
ReplyDeleteMr. Perfect Cell At the very least nobody‘s going to steal your Username...
ReplyDeleteSevoris Doe True. Well, I mean they could. Not the address, but once you make it, you can pick any name you like. The odds say they won't, at least not for some time, but you never know.
ReplyDeleteYou can learn a great deal about pluspora/Diaspora from the Getting Started guide, including how to use markup.
