A guide to using Dreamwidth
This is written for people moving from Tumblr to Dreamwidth, but i think it's a useful overview:

They have also written up how to find interesting people and Communities on Dreamwidth:

On the other side Dreamwidth is welcoming Tumblr users with open arms. They've posted some info about how it works and are encouraging people to share links to recommended communities (probably all NSFW in this case):

ReplyDeleteI would be interested in more people's impressions of Dreamwidth.
ReplyDeleteI actually have an account there that I created years ago when people were migrating from livejournal. But the people I followed back then have mostly moved their efforts to their own blogs and social media, especially Facebook and Twitter.
ReplyDeleteIs be interested in hearing more about what it's like now too.
I really enjoy the "tile" UI for google plus. The reddit, dreamwidth, etc forum-style communication sites are just not as appealing.
ReplyDeleteAndrew Braun I wonder if this could be replicated with greasemonkey (a javascript add on for browsers that allows you to modify the page, including layout.)
ReplyDeletePeggy K Me, too, although I rarely used it, especially after I got my G+ beta invite. Just noticed that my login still works, but also that an ex with whom I parted on bad terms is still there and still following my profile. Pity, because I did like the LJ/DW format (other than the fact that neither is good at displaying photos other than in very small sizes.
