Why would you want to shackle your social network to such a stone-age technology that it can't even handle Terrans and Martians in a shared blockchain ???
"ON" the blockchain seems silly... let's have another ledger that grows to petabytes per day full of garbage. Using the blockchain for authentication and security seems reasonable though. Peer-To-Peer file-sharing with encryption keys shared through the blockchain, maybe. If your 'circles' shared the content then not everyone needs to be running their individual nodes 24/7. Yes, it's still the same amount of data, but not everyone needs to have it all. Maidsafe uses datachains, not blockchains.

Insert rant about blockchains and their complete uselessness.
