A new social Media started in January.... it is going to try to emulate G+ as much as it can..... It is owned by, and administrated by G+'ers and is looking good. It has a great privacy basis too, members data is not shared, sold or released to anyone - unlike the big media's.

I would recommend that G+'rs looking for a good 'replacement' for G+ join this new media and check it out... the more that join the more it will develop... and the owner and admins have the ethos that not only are they easily contactable (they auto 'friend' you on joining) and that members can suggest improvement...

Take a look, try it out.... https://www.youme.social/

Owner(s)..... it is easy to create a community there !

NB: Be aware... youme is for the next hour down for planned improvements, based upon member suggestions. I Suggest that you give it a couple of hours then go join...

  1. I've already checked it out. It has rough edges, but yes, it's more like G+ than any other site I've seen so far.

  2. It's actually a mooSocial instance on a cheap hosting platform. I do think it looks nice, and polished, but I'm not sure how well it would scale.

  3. It also looks like the server is overloaded since the link times out.

  4. I saw something about the upgrade might take 2 days, so there could be problems logging in tomorrow also - but anyone who wants to log in should keep trying occasionally. I did manage to get in once this morning. It really does look similar to google plus. I agree that it is good, and I am glad I joined. I like it a lot so far!

  5. I did not try to install any apps. However, I saw questions from some people on another post who tried to install the app. I think they managed to install it but had questions.

  6. There's another one being created called Atmos. It's still in Dev but it's working well

  7. The mobile app requires a licence purchasing for the domain, so I'm guessing they're waiting to see if it takes off first.

Is Atmos based on some other software, or a new project? Any technical info on the platform?

  8. Who is financing it? Last thing anybody wants is to invest in another failed platform!

  9. Whee! I signed up using the G+ delegation, and it worked. No password required!

  13. Okay. Atmos has a discord server with all of the information. I just joined so I don't really know much but I know its not going to have ads, the system will be relatively close to g+, and the data will not be sold or shared to other parties. The people in the server, not just the coders and stuff, have a say. Regular people can discuss ideas and vote on what will go onto the site. Of the people, by the people, for the peoole

  14. Jörg Walossek yes it is. Youme.social is a mooSocial instance.
