What next...? Or direct a safe app for my poems which r in my two collections ...I only want to move my collections...
Seems to be the norm.. I hav3 spent so much time doin* the same thing...files are empty the downloads do not work
ReplyDeleteI am trying drop box...needs acrobat reader to read 5he files and there is a download limit ...so that am paying 9.99 a moth for more space...trying to get m6 work of four years...the only other thing is cutting and pasting ..been doing that too to my MeWe groups...hope this helps
There are indeed a couple of hickups in the Google environment. They will become more frequently as Google is scaling down its Google Plus infrastructure. A couple of days ago, Google Plus was totally offline for some time.
ReplyDeleteThere are more than a few hiccups getting your work downloaded is a nightmare for those not proficient at tech...the worst of it the rush minus clear well functioning methods...it is very disheartening to say the least
ReplyDeletethe Collections data from Google Takeout only contains the metadata from your Collections, such as the name and visibility of each Collection.
ReplyDeleteThe actual posts are in Google+ Stream/Posts archive, alongside all your other posts.
Sheila Jackson Thanku Sheila...Downloading into Google drive isn't working...
ReplyDeleteFilip H.F. Slagter So looks like l will hv to move each singularly...I just wanna save my collections....
ReplyDeleteI just created an archive my stream only through takeout ..I will download it and let you know if it is good tomorrow
ReplyDeleteSheila Jackson l tried downloading on Google Drive, clicking the many shared options on the right hand corner of My collections and guess what...? Nothing appears...Re- tried & nothing still...Left my phone to upload thru the night, nothing still...Managed to save all my collections on Samsung Notes..But opening...Directs to G+...
ReplyDeleteOh wow please explain I have a note 8 ..I am concerend3d about my collections also nothing else is working properly
ReplyDeleteOh yeah I now realize what that means ...I was told to buy an external drive also perhaps this week to directly download to it .
ReplyDeleteGoogle Takeout doesn't work properly. Every single time I've tried it, all my 'Posts' archive contains is a list of URLs that point to G+. This isn't at all what I call "downloading my data". The Google+ Exporter software (linked to elsewhere in this Community) does work, though.
ReplyDeleteIt is time consuming the best option thus far is select all copy paste... To a other filrc
ReplyDeleteI used Firefox to save off a private Community. I opened each post, expanded the comments, then hit Ctrl+S to save, and prepended the date to the filename in the format 2018-12-01- so that they're listed in File Manager in date order. Firefox not only saves the page, it also saves images and other media in a folder with the same name as the HTML file. There were only a couple of hundred posts, though...
ReplyDeleteWow I have posts n collections from late 2013 - 19
ReplyDeleteSheila Jackson 2011-19 stream comments would be the same I assume.
ReplyDeleteImpossible. Days of work.
I finally was able to save by old fashioned highlighting and copy the transferring collections to word documents time consuming but it is getting it done 5hank you
ReplyDeleteNasreen Malik hi I just started using my computer ..highlighting the pages..copying...then transferring to word ..saving to cloud and documents...it is time consuming but it works..pictures are saved separately ..how is it going for you
ReplyDeleteSheila Jackson Hi dear...I managed to save to Google drive, opening the link in Google chrome and downloading the collections only...Chk on my pages....So ur saving text separately and pics separately? There is a download option in Google chrome...G+ takeout doesn't help...l don't need all the data...Just chosen files only...
ReplyDeleteSheila Jackson Me too dearest...
ReplyDeleteINasreen Malik yes I am happy to have them saved to word it makes for an easy transition also it is very simple to edit the writing...I am so not tech literate, I just write for me it is an incredibly huge learning curve lol..I am very happy to know that your work was saved..I tried to tell myself that it was ok to lose it but it wasn’t ..my phots are integral to the writing although they are another’s copyright ...
ReplyDeleteI use my phone to touch and save to pictures time consuming but it also affords me the opportunity to use them again
