Why not Telegram?

Why not Telegram?
you can use in any platform they are Mac windows and Linux can use it on iPhone Apple watch Android and the web

It has groups and channels
But it needs telephone number not an email which wont be shown to anyone but your contacts
You can read your fav article if you have the link and it s suported on TG
Create videomessages make calls create themes
It s not like G + but i hace been using it for four years
It s kind hard to learn about new things like mewe and others but am trying

  1. Telegram is not a good choice unless everyone wants to talk about ONE topic at a time.

  2. I know cause it s not like g+
But you can make a group and you dont have talk about one thing

  3. alaa mk It's exactly because we don't want to talk about one thing at a time that I decided Telegram is not a good replacement for G+. Say in a tech group person A talks about Android and Person B replies. It would be awkward for person C to ask about iOS as he/she would be seen as interrupting the current conversation. At least in G+ person C would be able to start his own thread without interrupting whatever A and B is talking about.

  4. Who knows the source code? Can you use it on a computer (not a phone)?

  5. I'd rather go via a second email as I do on G+, than my telephone number. More telemarketing junk calls?

  6. Holger Jakobs it can be used on the web or a desktop client (the OP even mentioned that already, and it's on their website).

  7. Telegram would be a good option for if you know people or have a single topic group IMO. While you sign up with a phone number, you can be discovered via user name so people don't get your personal information. The part I like about G+ is easily interacting with new people.

Ich will keine Telemarketing-Jung-Anrufe!!!

  9. Telegram is very good for rapid distribution of content, especially software, and for one on one messaging. Even group messaging, provided the subject is one-dimensional (say hosts blocking). It is not adapted to building communities. Or collections. It doesn't even offer threaded discussions.

  10. Telegram is ideal, IMHO, as a chat client.

It doesn't have the same social structures of Google+, you can't place your old Google+ content there, and it's not easy to follow new people.

Also, you have to link to a phone number for it to work.

  11. alaa mk It's far more productive to frame your post as "why you should consider Telegram" (or whatever other site / app / platform / protocol you're pitching or presenting).

Tell us why you like it, how it's useful, how it works, how it compares to compatition, what its use cases are, maybe some of its quirks.

There is no set of apps, sites, or platforms which are banned from discussion here. The ones which have been mentioned, generally, are those which G+MM community members are aware of and like. Some people have been digging into obscure, very new, or very old options and posting them, both as options and for comparison or consideration of features or failure modes. There are sites which are mentioned critically at times -- problems or issues. And we mods may reclassify nonsubstantive posts for sites already well-covered as "contact information", or remove and request additional details on an option.

But make the case. Be an advocate!
