They won't fix the notifications. G+ is almost gone, i don't think they'll spend time and energies. it would be like trying to treat a tumor in metastasis....
They do it on purpose, brutal expulsion of inhabitants of the ghost town for incapacity of providing the town with a better reputation. Google was frustrated we didn't count, but now they've decided to teach it to us.
Pat Kight Please don't speculate on cause of technical issues unless you've got specific knowledge. And unless you're a Google+ engineer, I strongly suspect you don't.
We know that G+ notifications were (and are still somewhat) glitched. We know that APIs have been modified at about the same time. We do not know that these two facts are related.
