Rupert Wood It appears now that I've not only been removed, but based on the lack of any visible "Join" button, likely banned from the Google+ Help community.

I'm unable to comment to, or edit, the original post.

Could I enlist your good offices to inquire as to why and how this is happening?

Julie Wills or any other G+H mods present are welcome to assist as well.

Thank you.

I'm being repeatedly removed from the Google+ Help community

And seeing posts HfR.

I'd prefer that wasn't happening.

Thank you.

  1. Edward Morbius I've just searched both the members list and the banned list for the G+ Help community, and you're not on either.

  2. This new strategy "silence everyone" does not sound good.
    Well...

  3. Andrius Narbutas Your conspiracy theory isn't helpful.

  4. Julie Wills Helpful or not, it has elements of credibility. Which is one of the reasons the actions being documented are so corrosive.

Hurts Google far more than myself, ultimately.

  5. Edward Morbius It seems that the exact search string used makes a difference (sigh), and another mod did find you in the banned list (there is no way to determine how, when or why), and you have now been removed from the banned list.

  6. Julie Wills Thanks to you and Rupert for your assistance in this.

    If there's a recurrence, I'll let you know ;-)

  7. I just joined G+ Help community and will be pleased to forward any developments I observe from that quarter.

  8. Nina Trankova appears to be unhappy that you referred someone to a discussion that was outside of G+ itself. A moment ago I posted that under the circumstances, the policy is obstructionist towards getting users accurate and timely information, so I would not be surprised if my comment is deleted or if I am removed from the community myself.

  9. Walter Roberson Might be interesting to look for G+H moderator references to outside sources.

I find the attitude expressed incomprehensible. I'm inclined to ask if that's official policy, though really, it's not worth my time.

Though it's another interesting datapoint on G+H mod views.

  10. By the way, Edward Morbius: I think you are doing a very valuable service in trying to help users get information off and find new sites that suit them. Thank you.

  11. Walter Roberson Thanks. I'm trying.

It's really not worthwhile or productive to argue with Trankova, or any other G+H mod.

I'll provide useful information there, if I have it. I occasionally ask the mods there for sources of their information or if they have any inside line (on almost everything related to the G+ shutdown, the answer appears to be "no").

I do think Trankova's statement is ridiculous on its face (see Steve Joy's famous statement "Innovation happens elsewhere" -- the answers are almost always found outside).

I've been learning through online discussions, including on man platforms principally intended as proprietary product support, for nearly 30 years. And none have limited themselves to Church-approved dogmas Corporate-blessed sources exclusively.

Whether that's an official Channel, or Google philosophy, or one mod's bent view, I don't know (I've thought to ask, I've decided not to), but it's a sign of the Fall here.

G+H might reduce some of its frictions if certain mods weren't so keen on picking fights with users. I prefer to note differences and nod out.
