Can these doubts be asked, here, please?
1) Do the badges we used in blogger still appear (at least as wallpaper) though not responsive, after Google+ shutdown ?
2) when done with Google+ takeout and Blogger Import, do we have some official identification, that those posts/material were once there at and migrated from Google+?

Ifinder Ifindi Google+ badges will disappear, or at least stop being clickable. .
ReplyDeleteWhen you import posts into a Blogger blog, the author of the posts is the author name on the Blogger account you imported it into. You can use a different name on your Blogger account than you use for your Google account if you set up a Blogger-specific profile.
At least with the Friends+Me export/import into Blogger there isn't any indication the content was originally on Google+.

And how nice it will be, if the imported posts in blogger have some indication that the posts were once on Google+ and migrated, More authentic than mere author's statement

Badges, Embedded posts, Blogger G+ widgets are all due to fail when the G+ API shuts down March 7, 2019. If they use the official Google javascript they should simply go blank.

We don't actually know exactly what will happen with Blogger G+ Comments. They may survive until April and the ful G+ Shutdown.
Right now, the badge widgets are all still working.

Ifinder Ifindi it won't be possible to Read More, if the original is gone. Better to write a blog post about 'your G+' and include screenshots. That you can rely on, while your blog lives.

ReplyDeleteEdward Morbius no. There hasn't been any announcement from Blogger about what's happening with Google+ comments or authorship either. Hopefully very soon there will be some information at least.
ReplyDeleteIfinder Ifindi it may be that there will be blank spaces in place of current Google+ buttons, badges and embedded posts. Google+ does warn that the API shutdown "has the potential to affect website layouts and/or functionality if no action is taken by website owners."
ReplyDeleteSo I would expect to have to remove the code.
In any case, embedded posts won't display if the original post is deleted, and that is probably what is going to happen when consumer G+ shuts down.
And those 'this is a dead link' holes on a blog are offputting to readers. Like an announcement that there is no one home. This blog has been abandoned.
