Ended up deleting #MeWe and #Minds.

Ended up deleting #MeWe and #Minds. None of those "alternative" social media environments are my cup of tea, obviously. I'll accept G+'s demise - even deleting my blogger I'm using since 2009. I have about.me/keremgo as my front page & probably build a simple blog on Wix when I have time.

Take care everyone and thank you for your amazing contributions in this group.

  1. You reminded me I have an about.me page that needs to be updated.

  2. Cass Morrison It's really good... With some payment it even works like a website with domain name and additions like portfolio and such. Even though I have no intention to pay right now... :-)

  3. Looks good, but forgive my pessimism ...how long until the perpetually bum-fuzzled minds at Google kill that? Is there a Yahoo or Microsoft alternative to about.me?

  4. Kerem Go Mewe isn't a G+ comparative, but I have found a few engaging Groups that have moved over from here. So I'm watching the evolution.

Have you considered one of the diaspora* pods or Klaster.me? diaspora* is clean and rather stripped down, but Klaster.me offers nice editing features and you can choose between posting an image, or blog style. Pluspora is the G+ expat offering, although there are other larger pods with near 100% uptime. I haven't spent much time on either, but one of them might suit your needs.

  8. Kerem Go, there is a new site starting called youme which is set up to look like google plus. I just joined it. It looks like it might be good. I will try to send the post to you.

  10. Tara Tisinger I think the thing about GPlus was you got invitations so you already knew some people.

  11. Well, there are not many people on youme yet. I recognized 2 names on there, and someone else sent me a connection request - so people are able to recognize names from google plus, and then invite others already on there to connect.

  12. If you want to be an "early adopter" youme.social has about 85 users.

My first observation is that it looks more Facebookish than Mewe does. Some of the "look and feel" has been borrowed from G+.

  14. It has a different format more like google plus rather than a feed format. It is a nicer layout.
