With Google+ closing shop in April we would like to throw our hat In the ring as a place to migrate your community

Over the last few weeks we have been specifically improving on our Community component to be attractive to Google + Migrants.

We have created a community specially for you to help you with your transitions away from G+. You can go directly to the community we named Google + Migrants here:

https://www.lifecloud.site/shared/component/30053?entryId=21060

The platform is not in beta. It is in production but it is new and we are looking forward to comments and ideas. The back-end architecture is very flexible and allows us to add and incorporate good ideas quickly. Think days, not weeks or months.

So check it out at www.lifecloud.site and we at LifeCloud welcome you to our community!

  2. Get a better top level domain. Not going to take anything seriously without a dot com.

  3. be one of the first ones to let people work out collections where they could put a collection up or as many as they want up nobody's done it

  4. Trucker Kev The Paid Tourist On LifeCloud you can post up as many groups or "collections" (what we call folders) as you please.

What sort of things are you looking for in collections that you currently don't have?

  5. Todd Hawk creating collections As You Wish having people who wish to follow that can just join in follow along and comment on the pictures you post. one look at my G+ profile and looking at collections one can kind of see what I mean. I've got a few in various from farms to Sky 2 just tired to explain...I have one with me just put it out guitar playing music and recording it putting it there and everybody in G+ land who doesn't follow along can comment if they want to or they can basically follow and then get alerted when I decide to put something up..I have not seen other than me we honestly ones who are willing to allow the public to comment or follow or joint do you have to invite all these people I have been all 700-800 followers I don't know them personally if they wish to follow along great.
the folders might did a good thing I'll be home this weekend I'll probably take a look into some of the stuff that it has andsee if it could be beneficial you're the first one that actually I've heard that said something very similar to a collection which for me is a big plus I really don't give a shit about all the public stuff as far as just posting away but I'm going to miss the most about Google Plus are the collections the feed doesn't really do much for me the collections is the biggest thing for me along with the communities because I'm huge on music and I spend a lot of time in music communities all over Google Plus land
but if you can get something that's close to what the Google Plus collections are whether it's a folder but it functions the same way you can put in what you want people can comment on what they want it could be a plus. I take lots of pictures

  6. Trucker Kev The Paid Tourist Yes that can be accomplished in the form of folders. Whenever you create anything on LifeCloud it has a privacy setting and an "open" setting. What you would do is make whatever you're adding (e.g. a video with you jamming out) public but set it as "closed". This way users can see what you posted but cannot comment on it.

I would like someone to do it where it could be like G+ and it's open to the public everybody can comment and enjoy collections or folders which is why no one has it seems done but this could be close to a collection like I said I'm going to look a little more into it this weekend
I want people to be able to comment I like that interaction what's is what I really like about the G+ communities

  8. Ho...le...shit this site is confusing as all hell. You can, essentially, add an infinite number of sub-items, and navigation is such a pain. No quick way to delete a message, if you want to edit the community topics, there has to apparently be something posted in it already - or else there's no actual way to get to its edit screen., etc.

It certainly LOOKS promising, but I'd also need a way to set other moderators/owners as well - so it's missing some features. It's certainly a million times better than MeWe.

  9. ThantiK it's brand-new it's still in the infant developing stages but it does show promise. especially for collections that's my big thing I could give a flying fuck less basically about the the feed if there's a public feed or not it's nice to have your own feet of what you post like on G+ but you know it is what it is. as far as the general feed I don't care what's trending because I always walk the beat of a different drum lol.. I just want something that's very similar to building collections can having your own personal profile where the public can follow or choose not to follow or comment so this one shows promise for collections the other ones haven't showed any promise for collections me we is great to build up a community like for music like classic rock or building up Rolling Stones again or all the other communities it can be done fairly easily there but as far as photographs and lots of stuff with collections me.we is not really for that kind of stuff so this is showing possible promise never know. so I will just have to wait and see what comes up and how this gets to be built up by this new startup and what it's going to do but I am confident to say it is a positive

  10. Ron K Jeffries eventually there will be ads. The nature of the platform gives us the abiltiy to hopefully have those ads presented to members in a more helpful way. targeted to their actual interests/needs. Also we are going to have to charge incrementally for upgaded storage but most members will probably never even hit their first storage limit

  11. ThantiK LifeCloud was built to be extremely flexible and robust. It does A LOT of things well. However, we realize that with all the features and function their is a slightly higher learning curve price to pay for discovering all the things you can do on LifeCloud. That being said we will never use your ability to have granular level of control over your experience on LifeCloud as an excuse for difficult navigation. We are, and will always be working on that. And as we hear back from you guys and gals we will make changes (in short time). The good news is, as I hear some questions about features and function the answer in most, if not all cases, is"YES" you can do it We just need to make sure you can easily accomplish what you wish.

  12. ThantiK Thanks for the feedback. In the coming weeks/months we'll be working with the Google+ community for the purpose of overcoming these pain points. You can leave comments in the "Google+ Migrants" group or in the "LifeCloud Forums" which can be found on your "LifeCloud" dashboard. Let us know what you'd like to see and we will get it done!

  13. Trucker Kev The Paid Tourist Glad you think so. We actually would like to do something around "collections" and your input would be a great help here. I started a forum topic so that we can begin the process:

    nice you supplied link.

  15. Javan Joel I'd love to look at that post, but all I get is error error error.

  16. Javan Joel it still shows a error modal, but the rest of it shows now. Thanks.

I really think the 'moderation view' should just be a slight-modification of the regular view, which enables an extra set of buttons, etc. This makes things less confusing all around.

    ReplyDelete
  17. ThantiK The only time we've ever seen error modals come up for no reason is because you have a browser plugin which blocks third-party requests. Let me know if that's the case on your end.

As for the "moderation view", this is consistent across all things you add into LifeCloud. So a "note" and a "community group" share that same UI when you want to moderate them.

We'll be expanding upon the "community view" so that you can moderate it right from within that view. Your input on how you'd like to see this implemented would be helpful. (e.g. "I want an easy way to edit topics so please put an "edit" button next to each topic").

    ReplyDelete
  18. Javan Joel I do have some privacy-related plugins, however I continue to receive error modals after I've disabled them all. Probably due to caching on my end. Do you have a specific "suggestions" page where I can make requests?

  19. ThantiK Suggestion Topic added. suggest away.
